Adorable lady finds missing cat during interview outside tornado-ruined home

Aren't you glad it's Friday? Do you want to maybe cry a little in celebration?

Then check out this video, below, of Judy Pugh, whose home was destroyed by the tornadoes that swept through Tuscaloosa, Alabama on April 27. The ferocious twister left at least 39 dead in Tuscaloosa alone.

Pugh cheerfully told local station WIAT that she rushed to the hallway with her three cats when the mile-wide tornado hit. The roof fell on top of her, but miraculously she and two of her cats were all in one piece. "I tried to get to my hands and knees but I couldn't. I heard the young men calling 'Ms. Judy, Ms. Judy, are you in there?'" she recalls.

Pugh was telling the station reporter about how much she missed her third cat Cadie, whom she hadn't been able to find for three weeks, when the cat walked right up to her during the interview. "I have everything I want now. I have all three cats," she said.

Tease-O-Rama - 10 Years Later!

10 years ago today marks the anniversary of the very FIRST neo- burlesque convention and showcase on planet earth - TEASE-O-RAMA!
It is so crazy to think that at that first New Orleans event we invited EVERYONE we could think of doing burlesque and that was about 25 different acts! LOL. Over the years the burlesque scene has grown waaaayyyy beyond what we could have ever imagined from multiple burlesque weekenders, movies and documentaries, books, conventions, tours and oh so much more. It really is mind boggling!
The main reason Alison Fensterstock and I (Baby Doe) decided to do Tease-O-Rama 2001 was to bring together this incredibly diverse group of burlesque, cabaret, and go-go dancers from all over the world and create a COMMUNITY! Lucky for us we had amazing helpers that first year from Debbie Mink, Superfly Productions, our first emcee Juan Rapido (I think he spent half the night doing the monkey dance to kill time), support from Dixie Evans and The Devil-Ettes did a whole lot of the volunteering and hand holding that first year. We had so much love and excitement generated in New Orleans by all the dancers and attendees this confirmed that we were onto something special. In 2002 Alan Parowski joined the production and we continued to produce Tease-O-Rama six more times including a west coast tour to multiple cities. I could write a whole book about all my Tease-O-Rama adventures over years!
So often I am asked ‘when is the next Tease-O-Rama’ and my goal has always been to make this event the BEST that it can be. Money/Kids/Day Job/dance troupe/ and a zillions other things have prevented me from doing the event every year but Tease-O-Rama is not gone and lost forever. We will be back....
I just wanted to send High Fives out to all those who we have worked with us throughout the years and who believed in what we were doing and always welcomed us with glittery open arms!

‘Playboy’ show will shoot in Chicago

Eddie Cibrian will play a lawyer in the upcoming NBC drama “The Playboy Club.”

As one TV show leaves Chicago, another arrives.

NBC has ordered “The Playboy Club,” a drama set in 1963 Chicago. The pilot was shot locally, and a representative for the show’s studio said the series will be as well.

The news arrived the day after viewers learned Fox canceled the hometown cop drama “The Chicago Code.”

“The Playboy Club” stars Amber Heard (“The Stepfather”) and Jenna Dewan (“Melrose Place”) as bunnies serving the city’s elite at the first of Hugh Hefner’s swanky nightspots. Eddie Cibrian of “CSI: Miami” plays a club regular, a lawyer.

The show was created by Chad Hodge of the short-lived CW fugitive series “Runaway.”

Chicago could be home to 'Playboy' series

When one door shuts, another opens. Two days after Fox canceled the locally shot police drama "The Chicago Code," the city may have landed a replacement for next season.

NBC's one-hour drama "The Playboy Club" is set at Hugh Hefner's Chicago club in 1963 and will depict the world of working-class Playboy bunnies and the men in their lives. According to Deadline.com, it stars Eddie Cibrian (who recently wed the singer LeAnn Rimes) as "attorney Nick Dalton, a charming yet mysterious man with connections that veer on the illegal." The show also stars Amber Heard ("Zombieland") and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti ("Gypsy").

The pilot, which shot here in March at the old Meigs Terminal on Northerly Island, was directed by Alan Taylor, who also directed the pilot for AMC's 1960s-era "Mad Men." Actress Naturi Naughton, who portrayed a Playboy bunny last season on "Mad Men," has been cast in "The Playboy Club" as well, as a woman who seeks to become the first African-American Playboy centerfold. (The pilot caused a minor stir when unconfirmed rumors circulated that actor contracts included a nudity clause.)

NBC will officially announce next season's television lineup in a conference call to reporters Sunday, but news about which pilots made it began leaking earlier this week.

Details about the series' future have yet to be released, including how many episodes NBC has ordered, and more specifically whether the show will shoot locally. But that may just be a formality; according to the managing director of the Illinois Film Office Betsy Steinberg: "I can tell you definitively that they told me they will be shooting in Chicago."

Rich Moskal, who runs the Chicago Film Office and would be actively involved in facilitating any upcoming series, echoed that sentiment. When the producers were here filming in March, he said, they "were sort of laying out the potential timeline should the show get picked up." Moskal said it is possible the show could be here filming as early as June.

Moskal doubts the series will return the Meigs Terminal, which he said "worked great as a location at the time, but in the long term might pose problems" particularly due to the busy summer schedule of concerts at Northerly Island.

Currently shooting in town is the Starz series "Boss" starring Kelsey Grammer. FX will begin shooting its pilot "Powers" in July, and Showtime's "Shameless" (which shoots interiors in LA) is tentatively expected back in August to film exteriors for the second season. "Superman: Man of Steel" will also be filming in Plano later this summer.

Supplier of celeb latex costumes sues competitor

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A slippery fight has emerged between the maker of high-end latex clothing worn by Katy Perry and Lady Gaga and a former employee turned competitor.

The Stockroom Inc. sued Abigail Greydanus in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, claiming she is using some of its designs and disrupted its business relationship with Perry.

Stockroom is the maker of a high-end latex clothing line called SYREN. The company states the SYREN line has created form-fitting suits that have appeared in such films as "The Watchmen," ''Batman Returns" and "Men in Black II."

The company is seeking an injunction blocking Greydanus from selling latex clothing and costumes, claiming she is using designs she acquired during her nearly three years as a latex assembler.

Greydanus did not immediately return an email message seeking comment.

I really don't know where this is all coming from. I worked for multiple fashion companies
before working at Syren, including Forever 21 one of the biggest fashion companies in the world. Also I didn't learn latex construction at Syren, I interned with Tressa at Fierce Couture for several months, along with tons of research I did on my own before ever even considering working there. Then there's the fact that even before all of this I spent 2 years and thousands of dollars attending FIDM to learn what I know about pattern making and design.

I am not going to let this beat me, I've spent my whole life building my experience and knowledge on garment design and construction and I have not actively tried to interfere with ANYONE'S business. I'm trying to create a specialty niche in an industry where black dresses and catsuits are standard fare. I have no desire or need to copy ANYONE!!!

I really appreciate everyone's support on the matter, I may not have the money and the years of experience that they have but I am passionate about what I do and don't want someone to take that away from me!

Mummified body of former Playboy playmate Yvette Vickers found in her Benedict Canyon home

Yvette Vickers, an early Playboy playmate whose credits as a B-movie actress included such cult films as “Attack of the 50-Foot Woman” and “Attack of the Giant Leeches,” was found dead last week at her Benedict Canyon home. Her body appears to have gone undiscovered for months, police said.

Vickers, 82, had not been seen for a long time. A neighbor discovered her body in an upstairs room of her Westwanda Drive home on April 27. Its mummified state suggests she could have been dead for close to a year, police said.

The official cause of death will by determined by the Los Angeles county coroner's office, but police said they saw no sign of foul play.

Vickers had lived in the 1920s-era stone and wood home for decades, and it served as the background for some of her famous modeling pictures. But over time it had become dilapidated, exposed in some places to the elements.

Susan Savage, an actress, went to check on Vickers after noticing old letters and cobwebs in her elderly neighbor's mailbox.

"The letters seemed untouched and were starting to yellow," Savage said. "I just had a bad feeling."
After pushing open a barricaded front gate and scaling a hillside, Savage peered through a broken window with another piece of glass taped over the hole. She decided to enter the house after seeing a shock of blond hair, which turned out to be a wig.

The inside of the home was in disrepair and it was hard to move through the rooms because boxes containing what appeared to be clothes, junk mail and letters formed barriers, Savage said. Eventually, she made her way upstairs and found a room with a small space heater still on.

She was looking at a cordless phone that appeared to have been knocked off its cradle when she first saw the body on the floor, she said. Savage had known Vickers but the remains were unrecognizable, she said.

She remembered her neighbor as an elegant women in a broad straw hat, dressed in white, with flowing blond hair and "a warm smile."

"She kept to herself, had friends and seemed like a very independent spirit," Savage said. "To the end she still got cards and letter from all over the world requesting photos and still wanting to be her friend."

Savage said the neighbors felt terrible.

"We've all been crying about this," she said. "Nobody should be left alone like that."

About the “Porn Wikileaks” and AIM’s Database “Leak”

If you have ever been AIM (Adult Industry Medical Foundation) tested for any reason, whether or not you are a sex worker, porn performer or “porn star” your personal and private information has been published publicly at so-called “Porn Wikileaks” (pornwikileaks.com). That website is, in fact, a copy of Wikileaks with the word “porn” added in its place. The database exploit contains information belonging to over 15,000 people.

The person or persons behind “Porn Wikileaks” has published stage names, real names associated with any stage names, addresses and other private information with the clear intent to do harm.

Their stated motivation is, “To get the gays out of straight porn and illegal gay pimps that have ruined porn and shut it down making condoms mandatory by the government now. The fag loving has got to stop. California is full of gay Mexicans and now they can even marry which is so wrong.”

As of this posting, there is a new section on the site called “Category:High Risk HIV: To get put in this section you are either gay or you fuck fags.” This section lists people in the database who are straight, gay male and especially queer or transsexual.

The news is being reported in mainstream media widely, with many factual errors, includes insulting language toward victims of the database exposure, and does not include information for those who have questions or might need help.

This post aims to provide accurate information and rational, non-judgmental discussion and resources. I am reaching out through my channels for legal resources that can be recommended.

Below is an email from my SFSI colleague, sex positive activist, sex educator and HIV prevention tester and counselor Miss Maggie Mayhem. I am publishing it in full with her express permission in the interest of urgency, as the website includes Google Maps that include home addresses.

I’m Maggie Mayhem. I am among the 12,000 (and counting) lucky porn performers to have had my full legal name published on the website PornWikiLeaks.

I am writing because throughout the course of the day I have been receiving many personal emails from people in our own local community who had an AIM blood draw only once in their life to attend a party at a porn studio and even went to the trouble of wearing a mask to protect their identity. Some of them are finding out that their names are among those listed. There are only roughly 1,200-1,500 performers actively working in the San Fernando Valley at this present moment but the leaked database contained 15,000 names.

Whether or not someone identifies as a porn performer is irrelevant to the leak. Anyone who has ever had an AIM panel may have been included in the list. The code on the PornWikiLeaks website automatically fills in this sentence: “STAGE NAME born FULL LEGAL NAME is a pornographic whore and Hooker.” It is possible that SFSI might receive calls from people looking for help or support with the fallout of having their name attached to phrase like that, especially when it was pulled from a confidential medical testing database. The media is also stirring up a frenzy about the situation and quite a bit of misinformation.

I wanted to pass this email along so that we SFSI volunteers are aware of the size and scope of this problem and can hone our sexuality resource skills to respond to the situation if people call asking for information. It’s a complicated situation and it may sound confusing on the phone from a caller without a bit of a background on what is happening. As always, it is not our role to provide counseling or advice on the hotline itself. What we can do is what we’re best at – connecting people to the right resource and only passing along accurate and up-to-date information to our callers.

Here is some additional information:

• Individuals who have been tested by AIM at any draw station and at any point in time but who do not (yet) see their name posted should contact the AIM clinic directly and request that their name be removed from the database. AIM has not yet reported how this information was leaked and it may be helpful to have it be deleted from the database, especially if someone has retired from the business.

• Home addresses are *NOT* kept in the AIM database. Many “Porn Wikileaks” entries contain not just names, but also addresses, family information, copies of state ID’s, and Google maps images of their homes. This information has been sought out separately and appears to be personally vindictive in nature.

• The website has been getting immense traffic and has frequently been down or slow moving. At SFSI we may receive calls from someone worried about whether or not they are on the database but cannot actually access it to find out. The database is organized by stage name and many performers have noticed that the stage name listed for them is one that they have not used for years.

• There are portions of the PornWikiLeaks website that hint at a potential release of HIV and STI status. At this point in time, no information about STI or HIV status has been released despite rumors in the media to the contrary. Nevertheless, it is patently obvious that the person behind this is not operating in a reasonable and rational manner and there are hints that the website is interested in releasing this kind of medical information.

• AIM has publicly announced that they are investigating the leak and that they will press charges against the perpetrator to the fullest extent possible.

• Despite the many rumors about how this database was accessed and how long AIM has known about a potential security breach, there is no confirmed and definitive information about how exactly this information about how this happened at this time. It is also important to note that hundreds of porn producers have had access to this database as well.

• Many people will be looking for sex worker specific resources for support, advice, and counseling. AASECT is a wonderful resource but don’t forget to keep St. James, SWOP, and other sex worker support networks as well.

AIM (Adult Industry Medical) Healthcare Clinic Shuts Down

Porn performer Juliette Stray just tweeted about the sudden closure today of AIM (Adult Industry Medical) Healthcare Clinic. According to Raincoat Reviews, the Free Speech Coalition (a porn industry legal org) called an industry and member-only meeting last Friday to discuss Workplace Safety, Performer Testing. As you can see by Sarah Shevon’s tweet, only seven porn performers attended the meeting. Apparently at the fateful meeting, they quietly decided to abruptly close the clinic responsible for standardized STD/STI testing, health certificates and community testing enforcement in the mainstream adult industry. AIM was also used by non-porn people for its top-rate tests and fast results.

AIM has not issued a press release nor made any comment or hint on their website that they have closed. Disturbingly, their site AimCheck.net has been taken offline. This means anyone who had good tests can no longer access the test results or have them accessed – the online proof and verification of having clean tests is gone. AIM’s Get Tested link is also broken.

According to tweets, it’s just sort of expected that people in the industry will “just know” to get their tests from Talent Testing. This outlet has a turnaround of 4-6 days for results, as opposed to AIM’s results in 24-hours.

I’ll be updating this post when someone queefs out a press release, for corrections/updates, or when we get more information from the people affected by this. Many of you will remember that AIM was the center of the Porn Wikileaks database leak, resulting in the private information of hundreds of porn performers being hatefully published online in an attempt to harm porn workers. The data was mined, stolen and published directly from AIM by a porn industry individual. No word on whether the shutdown is connected to the Porn Wikileaks data theft.
